I love Turquoise and I love wearing it both in jewelry and in color.  In fact, the first ring I ever received from a boy was turquoise.   I was 15, and my high school flame at the time was Dave.  It was a flower shaped ring with a big ole chunk of turquoise in the center.  I didn’t particularly care for the ring itself, but I loved the stone.  Unfortunately, my ring and I would soon be parted when not long before he dumped me for a girl who was more. …well.. “Popular” if you get my meaning… I lost the ring.   I had been out playing field hockey in gym class and somehow the ring came off my finger and was gone. (That should have been a sure sign that something was wrong with the relationship) lol.  It wasn’t until I was in the locker room and on my way to Algebra class that I realized it was gone.  I returned to the grassy area and searched but never found it.  And now, like my memories of Dave… the ring is just a faded image in my head lol.

Turquoise is a strong healing stone and considered an “over all healer” not only for physical but emotional illnesses.  It is also a stone of protection.

It is a stone most attune with the thymus gland.

The thymus is located in the upper part of the chest between the heart and the throat and produces T-lymphocytes (white blood cells that fight infections and destroy abnormal cells). It is an important organ of the immune system. This is exactly why turquoise has an effect on the entire body.

It is said that this is the stone which connects the Heavens and the Earth.  Turquoise is used at the Third Eye Chakra for increasing our psychic connection to the Great Spirit through Intuition and allows for much deeper meditation. This stone is one of the oldest and most universal gemstones used by almost every culture on the planet. Turquoise is an ancient absorber of negativity and gives protection from evil.  It is said to bring wisdom and help one see the truth.   It protects one on journeys including astral travel.

A perfect stone for healers.  Like amethyst it boosts the immune system.

Turquoise detoxifies alcohol, pollution and radiation.  Helps with headaches, fears, eating disorders, TMJ and infections.  Also lessens hearing problems, high blood pressure and depression.  Turquoise helps bring peace and reduces inflammation and therefore helps with arthritis, and muscular/skeletal problems.  It is one of the best stones to use if you are sick or recovering from surgery.

Use this stone in the North area of your home for personal journeys and in the center area for grounding, protection and balance. It can also be used in the Southwest direction for love and partnership (always use two pieces in this area).

Turquoise fades in direct sunlight so charge it by moonlight or in a bowl of tumbled hematite or tumbled quartz.  Cleanse the stone by holding under running water for two minutes and pat dry.

Turquoise is an excellent conductor of energy due to its high copper association.  It is a Native American classic stone used by healers in medicine wheels and remedies.
