It’s been quite some time since I have blogged.  I have had a strange year and a half and I’ve spent all of it focused on my family.

For awhile now I have thought about writing and I wondered what topics to mention and at times I felt that nothing I had to say was anything anyone would want to read, besides the fact that I tend to ramble and end up off subject lol.
So again I put it off.

This morning while going about my daily chores, the thought crossed my mind again and this time, I heard the souls say “Just start talking”.  Without analyzing the comment like I normally would, I immediately began a list in my head of things I had to talk about and some ideas of what those of you who follow my page, might be interested in.  I also heard “they want to know”.

So here I am.  Talking.  Rambling.

I don’t know how my gift works.   I know how I receive messages and information and I know it’s all about recognizing different energies but even when I am in the middle of a mundane task, they communicate, they come to me without me giving them the slightest thought or invitation.

Every Medium is unique and we each have a different perspective and different thoughts about why we get messages and what we are suppose to do with it when we get it.

What most people do not realize, is that the messages are all about what we NEED, not about what we want.

The souls know what we need at any given moment and although they cannot and will not interfere with our free will, they can help us see the paths more clearly while we are on this journey.

I’ve had a few people email me asking me why I accept money for readings and “do I not see that it’s Satan and his dark angels that allow me to communicate with those in the spirit world?”

Please allow me to clear up some of this confusion.

First, I do not summon the souls to communicate with me.  Even if someone comes to me for a reading, I firmly believe that they were guided to me by those in spirit who either understand the extent of their grief and they know they can help, or they have a message for this person that is imperative to their journey. (I will explain more about this in my next blog).

I always, ALWAYS ask Gods permission when I do a reading and I ask Gods permission for the communication to take place. I ask God to bless the reading, and that only messages for the “greater good” are given.   Again, this is how I choose to use my gift, but there are others who do not work with the light of God and they do not ask Gods permission or even say a Prayer.

I am keenly aware that my gift was given to me by God and for whatever his reasons, he has entrusted me with it.  He trusts me to use it only for the greater good and that I respect the power, the beauty and also the dangers of it.

My gift and my beliefs are not connected to any religious affiliations; however I would like to make it clear that I am a Christian because I believe in Jesus Christ.  I worship in my own way, and I worship one and only one God, my creator.

I work only in the light and love of God and I have never encountered anything dark, evil or sinister in any of my own readings or communications with spirit.  I do know that this darkness exists and I have seen it in a few humans who I have had some casual interaction with, but not in the souls I personally have communicated with.

There are Mediums or (Psychics who claim to be Mediums) who use their ability for their own benefit or to instill fear and manipulate others.  I firmly disagree with this practice and I have no tolerance for it.

As far as accepting payment for my readings, please know that I have done the majority of my readings without accepting any kind of payment or re-imbursement.  I am not in this to make a living.  There are two reasons why I do ask for payment or donation for readings.

I have a few close friends who are Mediums.  One of them is very well known and highly respected and he was my mentor for a couple of years.  When I first met him, he gave me a piece of advice that I held on to, even though I wasn’t sure about it at the time.  He told me that I should always ask for some payment for a reading, even from friends or relatives because if I didn’t, they would never respect my gift.  He said I would have people calling me day and night, wanting a quick message or answers to situations in their lives and thinking it was ok to do so.

He was right.  It wasn’t long after word got out about my ability that I had people calling me to ask all sorts of things from what job offer to accept, when they should sell their home or what car to buy and even whom to date.  I had to make the change and ask for a fee.  This eliminated people who were using me and my gift for their life choices and for entertainment.  I do not choose to use my gift in this way, because I do not believe that it is what God intended it to be used for.

I have always chosen to focus my work for those who are having a difficult time moving forward with their life because of the loss of a loved one.  Sometimes grief can be debilitating and the souls want their loved ones to be able to complete their own journey here, but in order to do so, they need reassurance that their loved ones are still with them and although they feel the emptiness and loneliness of the loss, they need to know they are never alone.

I also believe that in our world today, when bad things happen to good people, we want to know why.  We want to know if there is a God and will there be salvation.  Sometimes it helps to get some confirmation that both love and life are eternal.

As I mentioned, I have given more readings without any compensation than those where I have accepted payment.  I have never turned anyone away for their inability to pay, especially if I felt they were genuinely in need of help.

The second reason that I ask for payment for my service is because each reading, each meeting, is time away from my family.  I do not take that lightly. Each day is a gift. I take nothing for granted and my family will always come first.
