"The Victim"
We all know someone who lives their life as a victim. It can be a family member, friend, or coworker.
I have known so many people who want to place blame on others for their own life situations. I mean, after all, isn’t it easier to blame someone else instead of taking responsibility for your own actions? People do not want to admit that they make bad decisions, act inappropriately or cause drama, so they blame everyone else for their disappointments and misfortunes.
I have heard the term “victim consciousness” and many unfortunately fall into this category and it becomes their normal way of life. By living in this frame of mind, we perpetuate fear and it becomes a vicious circle of a life in a world of illusions and lies.
Because they live with such a distorted view, they attract their own negative experiences and create their own lonely environment. Their attitudes and delusional thoughts push others away, including members of their own family and they end up living a life alone or surrounded only by others with the same negative mentality and internal conflicts. No one likes to be around people who have to create drama or imaginary problems in order to receive satisfaction in their own mind.
These are the same personalities who always need to be the center of attention. They have to always succeed, be more attractive, wealthier, more loved than everyone else. They will usually stop at nothing to make those, who they believe to be their competition, look bad in the eyes of the rest of the world. At times, these distorted views can even lead to violence.
Many times only professional and spiritual intervention can help. However there comes a time when we have to step back, or walk away and let go of those who are determined to make us live with the consequences of their own disturbing life . Instead, surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Focus on the good and allow yourself to create peace. Embrace those who create harmony and pray for those who cause discord and spread hatred.
